Labor Day Weekend

We decided on Saturday afternoon to go and race in Jackson, and we're fairly pleased with the way things turned out.  We started the heat in the 3rd row, and ran 4th....so we made the invert, which gave us an outside front row starting spot.  We ended up with the lead after about a lap, and were running ok, but Wade Nygaard blew by us, and he set sail for the win.  We held on for 2nd....and although we had nothing for Wade, we ran decent we feel.

Sunday night at Husets we won the heat, and started 12th in the feature.  We had a good car, and reeled in the leaders, but couldn't find any way around them the last few laps and settled for 3rd.

Monday at Husets was a disaster.  We ended up crashing Robbie Wolfgang on the last lap, and won the race as a result.  Now we're taking the blame....full responsibility.  It's unfortunate that things happen like this, but everyone will end up in something along the course of a year.  We felt pretty good about not getting into, nor causing wrecks over there this year, and this one really felt bad.  We've apologized to the people who deserve it, and we'll leave it at that.

I'll leave comments up for now....but if it gets like I think it will, they'll be down.

A few things that I need to add....in the confusion I forgot to say last night.  We want to thank the fine folks at 212 the Boiling Point for helping us with a room for the night after Sunday's races.  They're first class in every way when it comes to the racers!  We managed to make our way in there on Monday afternoon for lunch as well, and the food is excellent as was the service both Sunday night and Monday afternoon!  I would HIGHLY recommend paying a visit there if you've not yet been!

Jason, I wasnt there so I won't defend either way, but just want to say you guys have had a great year, you guys have earned the championship by being the best out there, both car and driver. People tend to hate anyone that wins all the time, we all wish we had that problem! Keep your heads up and keep doing what your doing!!!Chuck

I love you Jody!!!! You are the best driver in the 360s! You truely are the greatest driver and guy out there. See ya on the 13th :]

Jody showed what type of person he was tonight..A CLASS ACT

He apoligized first thing in the interview. You could tell he was upset with how things happened.
I did also notice that Jody went over to Wolfgangs pit and was talking with them.

You all handled the "bad" situation in a professional manner !! Dont let this sour an incredible season.

Thanks for your effort to entertain us every week.

I want to say that Jody is a great driver and I have never once seen him drive dirty! It's a shame that this incident has been blown out of proportion because of other jealous drivers! We love you Jody and you have our support!!!! Thanks for being a class act and stating the truth in the matter.

Jody DESERVES the championship (as well as Team Crown). They all have done their part in working on the car and Jody has done amazing driving the car. Jody apoligized durning the interview. After the interview, he went and talked to Robby. Yes it was an unfortunate situation but Jody handled it very well and im very proud of him for that! Jody is a family friend & my uncles also sponsor the Team Crown car, but knowing Jody as long as I have known him, he would NEVER purposly take someone out just to win. Accidents happen! Its racing! If it would have been Jody's fault (not saying it was Robbys either) Robby would have got out of his car just like Trisha did with Cressman and would have tried to talk to him about it then and there on the track. Jody is a great guy. Everything has been blown way out of proportion. Jody and team crown handled it all the way it should have been. They have apologized to all of the people that needed to be apologized to. I love you Jody!!!

People have blown this WAY out of proportion!!! Jody did not mean to cause a accident... its racing accidents happen thats why they are called accidents!! If he ment to Robby would of been over by Jody's car talking to him!! Robby knew it was a ACCIDENT thats why he wasn't in Jody's face about it!!! Everyone that was in the stands booing had NO right to. Jody worked hard for this and so did Team Crown. They desevre it!!! Jody has apologized to everyone he needed to. It's not his fault he is a good driver! People who are going to hold this against Jody need to rethink the situation. Robby even said he was staying in his path and it's part of racing.(it's in the argus if you want to see it) He also said there are no hard feelings. People need to get over the fact that Jody is a good racer and does win alot sorry... but its a part of racing!!!
I LOVE YOU JODY!!!

On behalf of all the good fans there, I apologize for the other idiots in the stands. Good luck the last couple of races.

I still love u Jody, wanna play scrabble no else does.

I am a huge fan of Teamcrown racing - you guys are all great, easy going people. It's called an accident for a reason. It soon will be forgotten about and the others will soon have something else to complain about. You guys all handled it well and kudos to all of you for stepping up taking the blame and apologizing for it - how many racecar drivers and teams actually do that? Good luck the rest of the season!!

Racefan doesn't have a valid email address attached to his comment. It came down, and the threat of being taken out will be noted. Thank you IP address 24.220.210.142.

Jody clearly took Robby out on Monday night. Robby deserved that win more than anything. Of course Jody apologized but seriously why do it in the first place. People are wondering if he will even show up to the next race since none of the racer like him now. If you have to take someone out to win, thats not racing. Racing clean and winning is how it should be. Dont feel bad for Jody at all. Good luck at that last change to get the record, but i doubt people will let them by you so you better be ready to take them out again Jody

Sprintfan/Racefan the last post was better, so I'm leaving that up. You should reread my post and see that we don't like the way we won. Nobody would, but ANYONE would take a win. Robby ran a good race, and it's unfair to him not to have been able to finish it. The faster car attempted a pass, and it went very bad....Jody made a mistake....our fault the crash happened. I, like any other car owner, stand by my driver....good, bad, or indifferent. If he makes a mistake, I tell him he made a mistake. He admits when he made a mistake. This one was magnified by the fact that we were attempting a pass for the lead, and it's one of Sioux Falls, SD favorites (as he should be). The record means nothing to us at this point...we're not the ones hyping up the record...it was a goal for us early in the year, but we've long since gotten over the thought of it. We're there to win just like everyone else that signs in. We're not there to win at any cost, as people should have seen by now. We ran 3rd the night before to Jacobsma and Wolfgang with clearly the fastest car, but couldn't make our way around them, and didn't get into them as they were banging around with each other (just one example of the nights we didn't win). Please keep nights like this in mind. One incident doesn't make a season, nor does it make the driver. If people are going to try to take us out, that's their perogative. We're prepared for what happens, and as far as other drivers not liking Jody or us, that's their problem. They weren't in any way standing up for anyone....they're frustrated I suppose. We've kept to ourselves this year, and flown under the radar as far as causing any commotion until this one incident. As a matter of fact, the only time I've left our pit to speak to another driver for the most part is to congratulate them on their win, which I've done to every driver that's won a race in the 360 class (it was reciprocated only one time by Eric McGillivary). We've passed cars all season, and haven't made contact, nor do we feel we need to in order to go to the front. Our actions ALL YEAR on the track speak for themselves, as do our actions in the pits before and after the races. It's unfortunate some can't say the same. People should take a lesson from the Loren Barstad team in how to conduct themselves. They've been first class all along, and only gain respect by their actions, or lack there of when something like this happens.

I stand behind Team Crown and Jody 110%! You guys desevre the Championship! You have all worked hard this year and it has paid off! The number of wins proves that!! keep up the awesome work!! As long as you keep racing I will keep cheering!

Team Crown & Jody deserve every win they have got. Racing is racing. Accidents happen in racing. Both the teams & Jodys work has paid off this year and you deserve every win & the championship. Jody had (and i hope he still does) a lot of respect at Husets & now its all gone down the tube because of an ACCIDENT? I think that is so rediculous & Jody did not deserve all the crap that was put on him that night. I feel bad for Robby, yes, he is a good friend of the family & he DOES NOT have any hard feelings towards Jody or Team Crown. It was strictly racing. Again, accidents happen. This happened almost 4 days ago now, people need to get over the fact that an accident like that happened and let it go. If people are mad at Jody for being a good racer & winning then they should be just as mad at Mark Dobmeier for being good. I support Jody & Team Crown all the way! Jody is a good family friend & I will support him as long as he keeps racing!

Jason...your team and you have your heads so far up your asses, you dont talk to anyone because you think you are so much better than everyone else. Im sure you wont leave this one up either but hey gotta make the site look good right and take all the bad comments off, psh. If the record doesn't mean jack to you then why the hell didn't you take the challenge when you had the chance, oh thats right you started up front and knew youd get a win to add to the record so clearly thats a lie. By the sound of the crowd when Jody whens, you don't have much fans and thats been going on for awhile not just after this "accident". Im glad people stood up for Robby and I'm sure they would do it again anytime no matter who the driver was that wrecked him. Its dirty racing and nobody likes it no matter who causes it or is involved in it. Jason im sure you will have another cocky remark back to this so dont even bother saying anything at all. It wasn't an accident...jody clearly did it on purpose and your not a good car owner if your gona let your driver race like that.

Sprintfan, it's unfortante that you feel the way you do. You apparantly don't know half of the stories, but I'll never convince you otherwise. You're certainly entitled to your opinion. I believe if you read my comments, there isn't a cocky remark in that post. If you'll notice, I don't have a problem leaving a negative remark up, as long as it's tasteful. You're fortunate that this site allows comments unlike so many others. Think what you will, and please leave a valid email or name next time and I would be happy to discuss any situation or reason for anything through that rather than this website. Thank you, and have a good day.

Jody is a great guy and one helluva driver. It was a racing deal and nothing else, Jody and the team handled it with class. Keep up the good work team crown. I'll be cheering you on.

I am proud of the way you all handled this situation. I saw three of the crew over talking with Robby and his crew right after the accident happened and that is very good sportsmanship. I have been around racing for more years than I can count and I have seen my share of drivers take others out on purpose. I also know how any race track can get when racing in the afternoon. The track gets like an ice skating rink with the rubber that gets laid on it from the tires and the drying it does. I know that Jody is not one that would purposely take some one out. Too many times it ends up backfiring on the one that tries it and that can be a very costly mistake. Racing is racing and accidents do happen!! I wish you all well the rest of the year!

hey sprint fan. how many times have you went down after the races and talked to team crown? they will talk to anyone

Sprintfan, I dont think that you even saw the race and the accident... if you had seen it you would know that jody was the faster car and was trying to pass on the bottom and robby came down to the bottom when jody was trying to pass him! (I have the accident on tape)! i think that you are the one that has your head up your ass! And after every race jody is down there taking time to talk to his FANS! Jason is a great car owner and has great knowledge on how to run a GREAT race team!

well, controversial night, i was there and saw it all, maybe it was bad track conditions but we all saw the bump, robbie was faster and you all know it, 2 laps left jody knew he had to do something, dont think he ment to do that but if hes faster should be trying to ride inside line not riding robbies ass, like he was, thats just my opinion, but bumpin's'racin not flippin boys, PS- one hell of a season you guys

I wasnt there to see what happen but if Jody went over and told Robbie sorry for what happen then i dont see why everybody is still whining about the whole thing. If people think they could do better i say let them try it. This is the first time u ever took out a car so people need to back off but they dont cause they all need alot of growing up to do. You are one of the best drivers out there and people are just mad that u guys start in the front alot but if thats it they have to take that up with husets not u guys. Good luck on the 13th.
