This Past Weekend
Interesting to say the least! Jackson started out pretty good we thought, but our fuel pump popped out in the heat and gave us a starting spot at the back of the field. Tacky one lane tracks are not what you need when starting that deep, so we only ended up 9th. Sunday we had good draws, and we took advantage of them by winning the heat, and then from the pole won the feature. Now, the controversy....we did run a wheel that had titanium bolts on the right rear. We've run those wheels a hundred times before, and really thought nothing of it. We certainly weren't looking for any speed advantage by having that wheel....it just happened to be the one we had there. Illegal per the rules? Yes, it is. Big advantage? Very minimal.....almost none. We were called everything in the book by Casey Abbas, and his whole family; which is unfortunate because we always seemed to get along pretty well with those guys. We were accused of having titanium brakes, ti valves (which about every ASCS engine in the country has), ti drive shaft, and whatever else you can think of. Their comment is, "Your car is loaded with titanium". Find it, and show it to me. I'll be there with the very same car and parts this next Saturday. Now, if you want to split hairs, I can guarantee you there are cars there in the top 5 that have the very same valves that we have, yet there's no problem with those guys. As a matter of fact the 56 car has run ti brakes this year, and were allowed to do so. We do have ti valves, but there's nothing I can do about that, and if they want to check my stuff they most certainly can....however I want them to check the others stuff as well. I will actually be at Husets next Saturday at 2:00 so they can go over my car with a fine tooth comb. I want them to stick a magnet to everything on my car, and they won't find one thing wrong with it!! I certainly invite EVERYONE to be there for the inspection.....and especially the 17v crew. So if anyone knows them, please tell them the offer is there....they looked over my car hard enough. They looked at my brakes....and they won't look any different this week. I'll roll the car to the scales and show them we're heavy enough. We have nothing to hide, and won alot of races with those tracks, and haven't ever needed to cheat to win. I have no problems with anyone, and certainly don't want any problems with anyone. Let's all hope that this blows over and everyone will have fun again. That's what this is all about, isn't it?
You can't help some people's iggnorance. People like that, you just have to brush off and move onto the next race. We know that cheating never has & never will be part of Team Crown. So I agree with inviting everyone to be around for any inspection that they throw your way. Good Luck Boys !!!

Thank you Dave....now I explained the whole situation, and yes we were wrong in running ti beadlock bolts....however there wasn't a meaning behind it. We'll be back next week, perfectly legal per USRA rules with ASCS heads on the motor and ti valves....which in the USRA rules it reads....ASCS head rules apply. Which means ti valves are legal per ASCS head rules.
Randy, we'll see what we do next year....still have all the equipment and it's in good shape, and have a few options on which way to go next year. We'll see what happens!

And they wonder why husets has a hard time getting cars. For what they pay in purse they should have paid you to put the car on the track! Good luck next week.
