Food for Thought

Definition of a hero:  a man of distinguished courage or ability, admired for his brave deeds and noble quality.

Example:  Joe Riedel.

I just want to take this time to impose my opinion I suppose.  I'm not trying to get all soft and what not here, but I feel compelled to say a few words here.  I was told about a week ago that a fellow racer, Joe Riedel, was going back to Iraq for service.  I know a few years ago Joe was there while on active duty, so it's no surprise to me that he is actually going.  What really gets me is the fact that he volunteered to go back.  I had the chance to speak to Joe last Wednesday night and wish him well on his tour of duty.  The courage it takes a man to go to a situation such as this is mind boggling to me.  I know that I myself, and millions of others couldn't do what he's doing.  He is a hero to all of us.  Good luck and a safe return in the future Joe.  Thank you for your courage.
