Update

We'll be in Jackson Saturday for the fall classic, and then the plan is to race Husets on Labor Day.  More than likely we'll be at Husets next Saturday for the season Championship as well.  Hopefully everything goes well.  We know the races don't pay that well, but the season is winding down and we're just looking to get the car on the track and have some fun.  Hopefully we'll see everyone at the races in the next few weekends!

Saturday Results

To say the night started out rough is an understatement.  The magneto in the car had turned a bit, and we couldn't get the car to fire until we found it.  That really had our heads spinning for a little bit, but we were ready for the heat and ran 2nd after starting in the back.  Starting 7th in the feature, we were able to make it to 3rd in a few laps and then the left rear shock came undone from the arm and the car became a handful!  The longer the race went I believe the worse the right rear bar and shock got to be and luckily it held on and we finished 3rd.  It's a decent showing, but we're disappointed that we didn't have the chance win, even though we were BY FAR the fastest car on the track.  That's the way racing goes though, and we'll try again this Saturday in Jackson (unless it gets rained out, then we'll see if we can get back to Madison again).  See everyone at the races!

One Possible Quick Change

We may not race in Hartford Saturday, we may be in Madison instead.  I'll post where we'll be this Saturday by the end of the day tomorrow.

The Next Few Weeks

This weekend we'll be racing in Hartford on Saturday with Jody Rosenboom.  We're hoping that all the changes we've made will make the engine perform as it should.  We'll be flowing the fuel system tonight, and all the fuel lines will be replaced as well.  Hopefully we'll leave nothing to chance and things will go well.  Again I want to thank Brian for all the help last week.  I also want to thank Brenden Telfer from Australia for coming along with Brian and working very hard on everything.  After Hartford we'll be at Jackson for the fall classic, and hope to have a good showing there as well.  Beyond those races, we'll see what happens.  See everyone at the races!

Latest News

It was a tough week on all of us.  Brian Brown was gracious enough to help us through everything while we still continue with engine woes.  We've been fighting this problem far too long and we're all getting frustrated with it.  I will say that we've gotten closer in the last few nights, and even with an engine that runs terrible, we managed a 4th place finish in the Jackson Nationals prelim night (which ended up being the feature overall).  Brian is an incredible driver and person.  He shows that every time he races a car.  Hopefully we'll find something in the next week in the engine dept.....it's time to tear everything out of the car and start over!  See everyone around.  RIP Otter.

Very Sad News

Life is tough sometimes.  The racing lifestyle is fast, and can be rough.  We all think we'll live forever, but a dear friend of Team Crown has passed.  "Otter" Brian Lickness passed away in his sleep last night.  It's hard to imagine his fun loving attitude not being there when he's around.  We'll miss him deeply, and may he rest in peace.  Godspeed "Otter".

Last Week and Upcoming

Pretty simple to say.  You couldn't have beat the driver or the car, but the motor sucked!  That was our whole problem all weekend....the thing just wouldn't run.  9th in the C main for the 360 Nationals certainly wasn't what we'd hoped for, and everyone is disappointed.  Finally Sunday night we got the thing running pretty well in the B and won that, and then started moving nicely in the A before a muffler broke off and we were DQ'd for the rest of the night.  Don was pretty happy with the car, but again our motor let us down.  Next up:  I80 on Tuesday, Hartford on Wednesday, and the Jackson Nationals Friday and Saturday.  See ya there!
